Fish, nargilla and a nice sea view. Zaken we hayam in Jaffo!

This restaurant is located in Jaffo, in the old city. With a different atmosphere than in the modern Tel Aviv, Jaffo is a place worth visiting. The restaurant zaken we hayam, meaning the old man and the see, is near the sea. Different people from all over the world and a special Jaffo vibe.

The restaurant has a huge place outside to sit and many tables inside. The tables are covered with placemats and there is no music. The restaurant doesn’t look cozy and in the winter you prefer to sit inside, although the huge groups that enter the place will disturb your quit moment of dinner. In the summer this restaurant is a total different experience; with the sun, sea and nargila on the side.

The moment you sit down your table will be filled with tasty appetizers; cauliflower, humus, fresh lava bread, avocado salad, eggplant, egg salad, spicy carrot salad, beetroot salad, tehina, tabule (a Moroccan couscous salad) and many more. You will receive a can of limonada (lemonade).

The fresh fish, which you can choose during the appetizers, are served very quickly. The grilled fish is served with French fries, that are not their specialty, but you want to keep room left for the fish, so that is not horrible.

After the meal you can choose different dessert and a cup of tea or good black coffee. In the summer the experience will be complete with a nargilla and the sunset!

The fish is tasty and with just 70 shekkel for the whole diner it’s worth the experience!
